Keep It Up

from Wigs & Liquor by drunkdude69

about

A re-tooled version of an old DD69 song. The old version was impressively slow and seemed like it had too many words. We souped up the music, and even though it still has a lot of lyric, it feels much more toight.

lyrics

Sometimes life can be serious
but listen when I say
We have come here to tell you
You've got to have some time to play
Working hard is a virtue
Got things to do, go on and get em done
But feeling good will never hurt you, no
Come on, look up at the sky, get a little high, have some fun

While we've got the time we've gotta party
The time is right so get it started
Got to get it going get it going
Got to keep it going strong
Gonna do it right, do it every night
If it feels all right keep going 'til daylight
Gotta keep it up, keep it up
Keep it up all night long

There's no reason to worry
Even though it's hard not to feel that way
Life is too short to hurry through
Got to make the most out of every day
That's the message we bring you
Consider all the possibilities
When you've had time to think it through
Well we're sure you'll understand and we're positive that you'll agree

If you pay attention
To this philosophy
There’s no need to mention
That you’ve got to get away, seize the day, everyday
Come on and do it with me

about

drunkdude69 Cleveland, Ohio

DD69 music has been described as “a rip through a well-stocked jukebox, with smooth funk that would have been at home on a turntable three decades ago mixing with a contemporary guitar-heavy party vibe that could have been recorded two weeks ago.”

The music has drawn comparisons to classic artists like Stevie Wonder and Frank Zappa, as well as contemporary bands like Sublime and 311.
